David Rome, CMP,
DMCP
Director of Sales
David
Rome, CMP, DMCP, Director of Sales at BBC, grew up in the
town of Marrero, located on the West Bank
of the Mississippi River. Today, David lives in
Nine Mile Point, a 200 year-old community on the
banks of the Mississippi River, so named because
it marks exactly nine miles from Jackson Square,
an important waypoint for river pilots headed
downriver to New Orleans from colonial days to the
present.
David has a
passion for all the good things New Orleans has
to offer, and his enthusiasm and depth
of knowledge about his city is
reflected in his creative and very personal approach
to business. David joined BBC after a very
successful career with a local cooking school, a
Mississippi River paddlewheel company, and the
world-renowned Audubon Institute. But
David finds time to give back to the local
hospitality community, and he is a respected board
member of The Hospitality Education Networking
Association, and was the 2005/2006 President of that organization.
Keeping abreast
of new venues, entertainment and business
opportunities in a city as diverse as New Orleans can
be a daunting task, but David carves out quality
time with his wife Elany. They are both
enjoying their new home and
their custom-designed kitchen has already become
a gathering place for good food, good wine, and good
conversation with friends. Gifted with a
resonant baritone voice, David also enjoys
participating in local theater, and has performed in
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, THE BARBER OF SEVILLE and
ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.

Denise
Pugh Malo, DMCP
Director of Operations
Although her family roots are planted in Alabama
"country", Denise Pugh, DMCP, Director of Operations,
was born and raised in the Big Easy. She hails from
the city locals call "Metry". Before
graduating from Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans,
Denise held reign as the Butterfly Mascot for three
consecutive years. And still soaring today, her
powerful spirit has "migrated" to the BBC
family.
Once a
vendor for BBC, Denise developed a close and reliable
relationship with BBC. Her drive for excellence,
creative edge, and wacky sense of humor were only
three of many fascinating characteristics that
attracted BBC to Denise.
Even
though Denise earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from
the University of New Orleans, her real training for
the event planner's world began as Marketing and
Sales Manager for Rhythms, a nightclub/private venue
on world famous Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
It was Rhythms that brought BBC and Denise together,
and the rest is history (or shall we say - only the
beginning). Denise is currently the Incoming President of ISES New
Orleans (The International Special Events Society).
Denise's
flair for New Orleans flavor provides BBC with her
philosophy: "Laissez les bons temps
rouler!" with french fry po-boys, boiled
crawfish, and fried green tomatoes.

Angela
Bartolo
Office Manager
Angela Bartolo is native
of New Orleans. Having been born into a New Orleans catering family,
who has been in business for over 40 years, Angela learned as a
young child the art of hospitality. She has spent the majority of
her life in the events industry perfecting this art. At the age of
15, Angela began working for her family’s catering company and
still, to this day, works with the family.
After graduation, Angela’s first
job was with the Hand Rehabilitation Center where she was employed
as an Occupational Assistant. She loved helping and working closely
with a variety of people, and stayed with this company until 2004.
She then went on to work for Paradise Pools as an Office Manager,
which again, loved working and helping people and the creative
opportunities this job demanded. Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina
caused a lot of damage to the majority of the property and she was
unable to return to work. However, with the support and help from
the community the company has since re-built! After leaving Paradise
Pools she became a Human Resource Manger for Oilmop, LLC. She
realized while being there she really enjoyed being able to assist
all employees with various issues and problems that arised. BBC was
fortunate to hire Angela in November of 2006 and the combination of
her experience and her bachelor’s degree in Business Management have
formed together to make Angela a huge asset to the company.
Angela now resides in Luling, LA,
right outside of the Crescent City with her husband Corey. She
recently just purchased a home in Luling where she and her husband
have completely renovated the entire house. They have made it into
their dream home and have taken a vow to never do there own
renovations again. J Generally when she is not working, she enjoys
being outdoors, such as camping and fishing – she has even received
many 1st and 2nd place trophies for many fishing rodeos she’s
participated in. Another love of Angela’s is on Sunday afternoons,
going to the French Quarter to listen to Jazz bands and walk along
the river – and that Sunday is never complete without an order of
Beignets and Café Au Lait at the famous Café Du Monde!
