BBC Celebrates 25 Years of DMC Excellence

BBC Destination Management (BBC) is thrilled to announce that Saturday, April 1, 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the company’s founding and business success in the Crescent City.

What began 25 years ago inside the home of sixth generation New Orleanian, CEO & President, Bonnie B. Boyd, CMP, DMCP, has since evolved into an internationally recognized corporate meetings and incentive travel powerhouse. Having welcomed over half a million visitors to New Orleans (with no sign of slowing down), BBC continues to be a driving force behind New Orleans’ critically important hospitality industry.

“This anniversary represents a celebration of our past, a toast to our future and, more importantly, a nod to the beloved city that we are proud to call home, New Orleans,” said Bonnie.

From the earliest days, Bonnie’s vision was to not only promote New Orleans as a premier American destination for corporate meetings and incentive travel, but to also reinvent the overall client experience. “Starting out wasn’t initially easy as very few people were interested in giving women credit- literally and figuratively. However, I was determined to put New Orleans on the map on a global scale because our city possessed every quality to become a premier destination,” commented Bonnie.

Despite the initial challenges, her perseverance and adoration of her city have led her to create today’s award-winning company that boasts some of the most creative and talented professionals in the industry. While BBC still maintains the same hands-on ownership and management since its inception, the company has grown alongside its creative and certified staff to not only bring in new inspiration but to also redefine what it means to experience New Orleans.

“We have been extremely fortunate to work with such a dynamic team,” said Director of Sales, David Rome, CMP, DMCP. “Our employees are truly redefining the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ in New Orleans, from venues to vendors. This contributes greatly to our success as we are constantly pushing creative boundaries, resulting in even  more robust and innovative programs for our clients.”

BBC strives to provide an environment that not only fosters its employees’ creativity, but also celebrates it. “Here, our employees are regarded as family and we firmly believe that investing in their personal and professional development is immensely important as well as recognizing them for their exceptional work,” said Director of Operations, Denise Malo, DMCP.

While BBC has acquired new talent over the years, the company has been able to successfully retain the majority of its employees, some of whom have been with the company for 15 years.  In addition to BBC’s team of creatives, it is important to acknowledge the many longstanding vendors, partners and hospitality leaders that have helped make BBC’s clients’ vision a reality. As a proud supporter of local business and tourism, BBC recognizes locally grown talent and works tirelessly to promote it.

“Creating the perfect custom event that also incorporates the cultural fabric of our city requires many pieces, an impeccable attention to detail and patience. We could not have produced such fabulous programs and events without the help of our trusted partners, vendors and leaders in the hospitality industry,” said Bonnie.

BBC is truly thankful for a wonderful 25 years of collaboration and successful business in the Crescent City. May we continue to evolve together and always aim higher as we set new goals and create new standards of DMC excellence!
